Susan’s newest project is a study of North American rodeo rough stock since the early 19th century, and the larger populations of horses and cattle from which they emerged.

It documents dynamic bucking bull and horse behaviors as historical processes to ask what these animals have done to help and to hinder the development of ranching, tourism, rodeo sports and for-profit entertainment in North America.
